COMPETITIONS

The 2026 National Policy Competition

Teams of two act as Policy Advisors to the Minister of Justice, writing free and frank advice on how New Zealand can lift youth voter turnout at general elections, then defending it in front of a panel of expert judges.

Open to students from participating societies. Written papers are due 18 October, with presentations held over Zoom on 21 October. Where a society runs its own regional round, the winners go straight to the final.

A minimum prize of $125, with further prizes to be announced.
